Somebody in here is waiting for somebody out there. Adopt a shelter animal and be their somebody!

Norfolk Animal Care Center is an open admissions facility, providing a safe haven for animals from the City of Norfolk. NACC focuses its efforts solely on local animals in need. Animals are never turned away, regardless of species, age, health or temperament. NACC cares for 400 to 600 animals each month and nearly 6,000 animals each year.

 

All NACC dogs, cats and rabbits are spayed or neutered before leaving the Center. Dogs and cats also are microchipped and vaccinated. Staff strive to make the best possible matches between the adopters and their new companion. Adoption Fees for Dogs & Cats **

The $75 adoption fee for all cats, kittens, dogs and puppies includes:

  • Application of Advantage flea preventive

  • Deworming

  • FIV / Leukemia test (cats)

  • Heartworm test (dogs)

  • Microchip implant and registration

  • Primary vaccinations (including rabies vaccine)

  • Spay / neuter surgery

 

Adoption Fees for Small Animals & Birds **

  • Rabbits - $60 (includes spay or neuter surgery)

  • Ferrets - $50

  • Guinea Pigs - $15

  • Other small animals and birds have various adoption fees.
